  • Voice Input Data: When you use voice input for the Cali AI chat, your speech is converted to text. We process the resulting text transcription but do not store raw audio recordings of your voice.
  • Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including features used (such as chat, scanning, and voice input), session duration, and navigation patterns.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and microphone availability for compatibility and troubleshooting.

3.2 AI-Powered Food Scanning

When you use the scan feature, photos of your food are processed by our AI models to identify food items and estimate nutritional values. These images are:

  • Not used to identify or track individuals.

3.3 Cali AI Chat Assistant

When you use the Cali AI Chat Assistant, your messages are sent to AI processing services to generate responses. Regarding your chat data:

  • Chat messages are processed in real time to provide relevant, personalized nutrition guidance.
  • Your conversation context may be retained during a session to improve the quality and relevance of responses.
  • Chat content is not used to train third-party AI models on your behalf without your consent.
  • Chat data is not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
  • We may use anonymized, aggregated chat interaction patterns to improve the overall Cali AI experience.

3.4 Voice Input

When you use the voice input feature to interact with the Cali AI Chat Assistant:

  • No raw audio storage: Your voice is converted to text using speech recognition technology. We do not store, retain, or transmit raw audio recordings.
  • Text processing only: Only the resulting text transcription is sent to the Cali AI for processing, exactly as if you had typed the message.
  • Microphone access: The app requests microphone permission only when you choose to use voice input. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device settings.
  • Speech recognition services: Voice-to-text conversion may use your device's built-in speech recognition or third-party speech recognition services. These services have their own privacy policies regarding audio processing.
  • Voice input is entirely optional and is never required to use any feature of the app.

3.5 Analytics

We use analytics services to understand how users interact with Cali. This helps us improve the app experience. Analytics data is collected in aggregate form and does not personally identify you.

Voice audio is never stored — only transcribed text is retained as part of your chat history. You can delete individual chat conversations or your entire chat history at any time within the app.

Cali is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
